The Mass Start Alpinum sends you into the skin of a pro with this race, rifle carried on your back, shooting in prone and standing positions.

Prerequisite

Prior the event, you must take a 2 day of training course at least two week before the event. 

During this course, you will learn security rules, shooting basics in prone position (with an armband), in standing position and to safely manipulate the rifle. After the rifle adjustments, you will learn to shoot at rest, then combined with skiing.

This training must be supervised by an ESF certified instructor, holder of a professional card of Nordic ski instructor and specialist in biathlon shooting at 50 meters.

It can be carried out anywhere in France on a permanent biathlon stadium.

Please note : The organising team reserves the right to cancel a participant registration on the 29th of February if this participant’s level is insufficient for safety reasons.
In that case, we will fully refund your registration fees.

In the case where a participant did not make the mandatory training, no refund will be made.

 

Mass Start 40 Schedule

5 P.M.: Participants reception

5.30 P.M.: Mandatory training with your skis with coachs and official rifle adjustments before the race.

6.30 P.M. : Mass Start competition

7.15 P.M. : Dinner and awards ceremony

Mass Start Q&A

Skiing technique during the race: Skate skiing only.

Skiing Level: You must ski on every raceway profiles. Master descentes on every snow types. You will be skiing with a rifle on your back.

Safety protocole on the shooting range: During the race, loaders will be given to each competitor by a juge when he is in place on a blanket.
At the end of his shots, the competitor must leave the loader on the blanket. A security check will be made by the juge. The competitor will continue his race carrying his rifle, breech open without loader.
